Information Collection & Use

This web site collects information from our visitors. The information is used to either provide a service that is requested by an individual visitor or to improve the utility of the web site for all future visitors. Some of the information is collected actively and some is collected passively. Actively collected information is information you voluntarily provide us that carries some personally identifiable attributes about yourself such as your name or email address. Passively collected information is information that is collected while you visit the pages on the web site. Passively collected information is not personally linked to you as an individual person unless or until you voluntarily provide us with your personal information. You can visit the RPM Auto Wholesale web site to read product and company information without providing any personally identifiable information. While you visit the web site, we will collect and store certain non-personal information such as the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP), the web site you last visited, the pages you view while on our web site, the date and time of your visit and the time spent on the site.

Actively Collected Personal Information

Information you voluntarily provide us about yourself that personally identifies you as a person is called actively collected information. This section details the types of actively collected information we collect from our visitors and the manner in which that information is collected. We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide to us with other third parties unless you have given us permission to share your information.

Registration

Certain features found on this web site will require registration if you are to receive the full benefit of the feature. For example, if you request a price quote or purchase offer for your vehicle, we will ask you to complete the Price Quote Request Form. This Form will ask you to provide your name, city, state, phone number, zip code, email address and important details about the vehicle that you wish to sell. We will use this information to evaluate the condition & wholesale value of your vehicle. We will then contact you with a purchase offer for the vehicle if we are interested in purchasing it.

Orders

If you purchase or request a product or service from us, we will ask you to provide personally identifiable information on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, email, and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number and expiration date).  We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.

Surveys or Contests

From time-to-time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our web site. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code). We use this information to notify contest winners and award prizes, monitor site traffic or personalize the site and to improve the utility of the site for future visitors. We may use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys or contests. That company would be prohibited from using any personally identifiable information for any other purpose than conducting our survey or contest.

Tell-A-Friend

If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. RPM Auto Wholesale stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. We will not share your friend’s personal information with third parties unless your friend gives us permission to share it. Your friend may contact us at customerservice@sellcaramerica.com to request that we remove this information from our database.

Passively Collected Anonymous Information

The Site automatically collects non-personally identifiable information and may also customize your visit through technical means, including the following:

Cookies

This web site uses cookies to optimize your online experience. A cookie is required to access certain sections of the web site. Cookies are also used to track general web site statistics by a user. A cookie is a small piece of data, not code, that a web server asks a browser to store. If you agree, your browser adds the data in a small file or in memory. The purpose of a cookie is to keep track of the user while on the web site. The cookie does not tell us who you are, your email address or any other personal information about you.

Web Site Analytics

We use a third party web analytics service provider that uses cookies and web beacons to help us analyze how users use this web site and the effectiveness of our marketing search terms. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this web site (including, without limitation, your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by this service provider. They will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our Web site and compiling aggregated reports for us. The information collected by our service provider is not personally identifiable. Web beacons (also known as pixel tags, internet tags, clear GIFs, or single-pixel GIFs) are electronic images embedded into a webpage.

Information Automatically Collected by Our Site

Our servers automatically collect certain non-personally identifiable information, such as your computer’s IP address, the type of browser in use, and pages viewed, when you visit our site. We use this information to understand how visitors navigate through our site, to enhance your experience while using our site, and to make the materials we post as valuable to visitors as possible. We do not link this information to personally identifiable information unless or until you voluntarily provide us with your personal information.

How We Use Information

Actively Collected Information

Personally identifiable information that you voluntarily furnish is used to meet your requests for services and to fill orders for products that you order while on our web site. This information is also used to administer customer accounts, develop new products and services, generate reports on ways to improve our services and comply with legal requirements. We also use customer information to determine which products or services might be of interest to you. When you submit the Price Quote Request Form, an automatically generated email is sent to your email address. This email will confirm the receipt of your personal information and serve to notify you that we are evaluating your vehicle for the purpose of making an offer to buy it. In most cases you will receive a second email within 30 minutes. This second email will contain either a purchase offer for the vehicle that you are interested in selling, a message that we are unable to make an offer to purchase your vehicle at this time or a statement that your sale request has been forwarded to a third party for purposes of evaluating the sale request. Sometimes a Price Quote Request will need to be reviewed by a member of our staff before a purchase offer can be generated. In these cases, the second email will be sent to you by the end of the next regular business day.

Passively Collected Information

The information we collect that is not related to you as an individual is called non-personally identifiable information. This information is used primarily in an aggregated form to generate statistics and measure site activity. The information is used to improve the usefulness of the site to future visitors. Some passively collected information is linked to your personally identifiable information when you voluntarily submit your personally identifiable information to us. Cookies stored on your computer allow us to recognize you as you navigate through the site or when you revisit the site at a later time. They allow us to personalize your experience and generally to serve you better. For example, if you enter your name, address or ZIP code on one of the site's forms, it may be stored in a cookie so you do not have to enter it again on other forms on the site. Cookies and web beacons can tell us what advertising you have seen on the site. This allows us to offer you a more diverse selection of advertising information and may also be used together to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. Cookies, web beacons and IP addresses are also used to compile data regarding site usage such as; what website you came from, what pages of the site you visit, how long you were on the site, what type of browser you are using, what web site you visited upon exit from our site, etc. Web beacons may also be included in emails sent by us to determine when and if such emails are opened or forwarded. You can disable cookies or otherwise manage them through tools provided with your browser software and with third-party software packages. If you turn off cookies, many of the site's features will not work as well or at all.
